First Year Students: Requesting Books from Other Libraries - MelCat

An introduction to the library's resources for first year students.

If Zahnow Library does not have the book you are looking for, you can request it through MelCat, Michigan's statewide interlibrary loan service.

1.  You can search MelCat by selecting the link on the library's homepage or by selecting the MelCat link after you have done a search in the library's catalog using either the Classic Catalog or We search interface.

2.  Once your search has been run in MelCat, you can look for your book in the results list.  You can either select the Get This for Me link next to the title, or click on the title to access the book's record.  The book's record contains more information about the book.  You can also select the Get This for Me link from this page.

3.  To request the book, first select Saginaw Valley State University from the drop-down menu.

Next, enter your SVSU username and password.  Do not type anything into bottom two boxes.  Hit the submit button.
