The Research Center, which is open 65 hours a week, is available to assists students with many aspects of conducting research.  Librarians and peer research assistants teach students to organize search strategies and identify appropriate resources for course assignments and information needs.

Library resources include several thousand books and journals in print and online format that require efficient navigation to optimize search results. Librarians and peers assist students with incorporating credible internet resources, such as Google Scholar and open source literature.

The Center's focus is on developing student research skills for life long information needs.

The Writing Center assists students at SVSU at any stage in the writing process: we can help you brainstorm ideas, organize content, integrate research, correctly document sources, or polish a final draft. We work with both undergraduate and graduate students on assignments from all different disciplines on campus. Our Writing Center is staffed by friendly, knowledgeable undergraduate tutors who work individually with you to improve your writing.

You do not need to make an appointment to work with a tutor—walk in anytime we are open, and we'll be glad to help!
