Young Mack McAsh will grow to become a defiant miner... (Image 2) ...and will find himself in conflict with the local coal-mining family... (Image 3) ...and its youngest son, Jay Jamisson. Both men vie for the attentions of Lizzie Hallam, high-born but as defiant and independent-minded as Mack.
