Library Services - The Basics

Quiet Study Areas

The 4th floor is designated as the "quiet floor."  You will find individual study carrels along the perimeter of the floor.  Also located on the library's 4th floor is the the Roberta R. Allen Reading Room which offers comfortable seating and a view of the campus courtyard.

Open Study Areas

Tables for group study and group work can be located on the library's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors.  The library's 3rd floor also features a cafe area where you can bring food and snacks.

Group Study Rooms

Group study rooms and conference rooms are located on all floors of the library.  Group study rooms operate on a first-come-first-served basis. 

Research Help

Professional librarians and specially trained student tutors are available at the Research Center Desk on the first floor of the library to assist you with finding resources for research projects and papers.  Call or visit the Research Center Desk for one-on-one assistance.  You may also chat, text or email a librarian using the “Chat” link on the library homepage or set up an appointment with a Research librarian for more in-depth assistance.

Course Reserves When faculty assign additional reading or provide additional material for their classes, these items are place on Reserve at the Circulation Desk under the faculty member's name and course number.  If the material is in electronic format, it can be accessed via your Canvas course.

Computers and Printing

Students can log in to the computers located on the library's 1st and 2nd floors.  Students may also check out laptops for use within the library.  Print rooms are also located on the library's 1st and 2nd floors.  In addition to printing from the library's computers, students can use the printers to photocopy or scan material to their email.
