Hello & Welcome to Saginaw Valley State University!
This guide will help you become familiar with the services & resources at the Melvin J. Zahnow Library. In addition to this guide, personalized library orientation sessions are available to you. Simply contact me using the chat or email link under my photo or call 989-964-7052 to set up an appointment with me. Orientation sessions last between 30-60 minutes, depending on your prior knowledge of using the tools of an academic library. We will meet on the first floor of the library near the Research Center Desk (orange lights). We can also meet virtually by appointment with MS TEAMS, Zoom or chat.

*searching EDS (our catalog)
*searching MeLCat (statewide catalog) & how to order materials from participating Michigan libraries
*searching Library DATABASES in your subject area to retrieve magazine, newspaper, & scholarly journal articles
*establishing a Tipasa account to use interlibrary loan services
*explaining the function of Full Text Finder, article linker found while searching our databases
*verifying you are registered in the Zahnow Library Circulation System so you can check out library materials
*answering questions
