See the entries below for recommended databases for education courses.
You can see all our databases (including those outside the subject of education) here.
Q. Do we have full text access to everything in the education databases?
A. Unfortunately, no since that is cost prohibitive. If we do not have full text access for an article you want, try Full Text Finder or "Get it with Tipasa."
Q. Why do some databases call a concept by one term, but others use a different term for the same thing?
A. Each database has their own thesaurus, with most having them linked on their landing page. Email me (hgfisher@svsu.edu) if you need help finding the thesaurus for a database or need help figuring out the right terms to use for a search.
Q. What is a peer-reviewed article and how can I tell if an article is peer-reviewed?
A. A peer-reviewed article is found in a peer-reviewed journal. Those journals issues are not published without each article being reviewed by experts in the field. Peer-reviewed research is considered the most scholarly of research types. You can find out if a journal is peer-reviewed by checking it in Ulrichsweb database. (Hint: look for the referee shirt icon)
