First Year Students: Library Spaces

An introduction to the library's resources for first year students.

Group Study Rooms

There are group study rooms throughout the library.  Group study rooms can be reserved for 2 hour blocks using this link: http://librarysubjectguides.svsu.edu/studyrooms

Most group study rooms contain collaborative technology, allowing you to connect your laptop or wireless device to a projector or smart-board so that you can collaborate with your group members more easily.  Instructions on how to use the technology can be found in each of the group study rooms.  You can also contact IT Support should you have additional questions about how to use the technology.

Individual Study Spaces

Individual study spaces are located throughout the library.  The library's 4th floor has been designated the library's quiet floor.  You will find the Roberta R. Allen Reading Room on the 4th floor of the library.  This is a silent space for students to use.  On rare occasions, the Roberta R. Allen Reading Room will be closed for events but in all other instances is open for student use.
