Library Authentication Proxy Change: Getting the new link in ProQuest

This guide will demonstrate how to update content links for faculty and staff.

How to get permalinks in ProQuest databases

1. Search for a topic in a ProQuest database. In the results list, click the title you'd like to get the link to. (See red arrow)

 

 

2. When the article page opens, double click the URL in the address bar to highlight it. (See red arrow)

 

3. There are multiple ways to copy and paste the URL into your Canvas course. You can do either of the following:

  • Press CTRL and then C to copy. Click the space in Canvas where you want to insert the link. Press CTRL and V. Remember to save frequently when working in Canvas to save your progress. (MAC users: Press the command key then C to copy. Press the command key and V to paste.)
  • Right click on the highlighted URL. Select copy. Click the space in Canvas where you want to insert the link. Press CTRL and V. Remember to save frequently when working in Canvas to save your progress. (MAC users: Press CTRL and then click the link to do the same function as right clicking on a Windows computers.)
