Analysis

Most students strongly agreed or agreed that working with the Online Course Librarian improved their research skills and understanding of library resources and services. In AY 2014-2015 less students responded to this question than responded that they contacted the Online Course Librarian earlier in the survey. In AY 2011-2012 more students responded to the question than responded that they utilized the Online Course Librarian earlier in the survey.

In both years most of the responses to the generic questions were similar, with the most common responses being generic positive comments about the service. Several students also commented on the good availability and responses times of the librarians and that they thought it was helpful that the course librarian taught them how to do research.

Negative comments in both years were minimal and each suggestion for improvement was mostly only voiced by one student. This shows that the access issues were not common throughout the program and were mostly on an individual basis.

The biggest takeaways from the negative feedback were that there are some issues with database usability. A few students also said that the service was not helpful to them and they did not need to contact the course librarian during their class. Most of the negative feedback was on an individual basis, with only one or two students responding with that issue.
