SVSU is a public university, and members of the public are welcome to use the library. Limited online resources are available for off campus use. Our library staff is ready to assist you with your information needs.

Stop at the first-floor blue desk just inside the entrance. Bring a piece of valid government issued ID (Michigan driver's license, Michigan state ID, or current US passport) and a guest library card will be issued. Please note that some physical items and library services cannot be provided to guest users, including alumni.

Michigan e-Library ("MeL")
This statewide service provides Michigan residents with a variety of online resources for all ages and has as a component, MeLCat, a statewide delivery system for print items and some audiovisual materials. You must have a Michigan driver's license or state ID to use these resources.

Available databases for visitors and alumni off campus are here. The databases in the list are freely available (websites, government databases, etc.).
