The information in this guide is designed to assist students in Dr. Tim Kenyon's ENGL 212: Apocalypse Culture class.

Introduction

Start your research at the Zahnow Library's homepage: http://www.svsu.edu/library

The large search box on the homepage is called, "SEARCH with ZAHNOW".  You can search for books, CDs, DVDs, streaming videos, and articles using this search engine.  Go to the tab (on this subject guide), BOOKS or to the tab (on this subject guide), ARTICLES, to learn how to search the "SEARCH with ZAHNOW" database.

On the library's homepage, look at the links BELOW the search box:  Classic Catalog, Library Guides, and Databases.  On the top left corner there's a tab called RESEARCH.  Under that tab you will find a link to TIPASA, Interlibrary Loan and MeLCat, the statewide catalog that allows you to borrow books at no cost from other Michigan libraries.

There are also some tutorials that may assist you explore databases needed for your research.

At the top of the library's homepage, you will find a link to the library hours (located under the ABOUT link -top right of page) and to the Chat service, which is instant messaging with a Research Librarian.  You can contact me (Kathleen Kroll) directly when I'm on Chat, by clicking the link to Chat underneath my photo on the right side of this subject guide.  When I'm not available by Chat, you can email me:  kmkroll@svsu.edu
