ENGL 111 Library Session: Faculty Information

Introduction

The ENGL 111 Library Presentation is designed to provide students with essential foundational research skills including how to effectively locate, evaluate and use information using the library's resources.  Students will learn how to navigate the library's resources and think critically about search strategies and the various sources available to them.

ENGL 111 Library Instruction Sessions are 80 minutes long and are taught by one of the library's five Research Librarians.  While instruction is typically, provided in the Z-111 learning lab on the library's first floor, librarians are also able to come to your classroom if it is in a computer lab.

Faculty can schedule a library session for any time throughout the semester using our Online Instruction Request Form or by contacting Catherine Curtis, Research and 1st Year Experience Librarian (ccurtis@svsu.edu.)

We recommend scheduling by the third week of the term and at least two weeks before the desired date of your instruction.

For more details on the library session, please see our Outcomes and Activities page.
