E-Resources Librarian projects

FY22-23

  • Review published LibGuides for obsoleteness and redundancy. Consult with liaisons as to next steps.    
  • Create a proposal for a new, standalone ERM (electronic resources management) system.
    • Alternatively, create a homegrown system that is friendly, intuitive and useful.  
  • Periodical reclamation (department project with Collection Development)
    • Examine all single title subscriptions, print and electronic. 
    • Determine what we subscribe to and if we are receiving / accessing what we subscribe to.
    • Licenses for all, particular attention to ILL terms.
    • Overlap analysis with database content. 
    • Usage
  • New Publication Finder platform
    • Implement new platform with or without a new EDS platform. Spring semester 2023.
  • Attend one out state conference in person - ER&L or NASIG. 
  • Overlap analysis of titles. Experimenting with Fuzzy Match to do this. 
  • List of journal publishers (individual subscriptions) and HECVAT, VPAT status. 
  • WestLaw secondary sources - create select list with EZProxy enabled access for inclusion in Full Text Finder. 

 

Ongoing projects:

  • Checking links in databases & electronic titles
  • Adding packages / titles to EDS as needed; testing; adjusting. 
  • Updating and adding resource records to current ERM system
  • Adding license information to current ERM system
  • Providing ticklers (reminders) via current ERM system
  • Adding vendor contacts via current ERM system
  • Creating and updating procedures
  • Review individually subscribed titles for perpetual access.
