Library student employment: Worksheets

Library users visit the Reference desk for assistance with obtaining information to support course assignment, projects or other informational needs. Information and directional questions are also asked for library or campus office locations, events or staff are common as well. 

• Reference librarians work with library users when reference or research assistance is required.
• Reference students work with users when questions require basic information, are directional or involve the computer software/hardware in the Reference lobby area or in the library computer lab (Z 111).

Use these worksheets to help you become familiar with the types of questions you should answer and the questions you should refer to a Reference librarian.  When in doubt... refer the question to a Reference librarian.
