CAA FAQ and other information

  • Do I have to make an appointment? For online appointments, YES. For on-site tutoring no, students can just walk-in.
  • "Do you tutor __________? CAA tutors Biology, Chemistry, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, and most Gen. Ed. Classes, like Communication, English Lit., History, Political Science, Psychology, etc.
  •  “Where do I find __ (a book) in the library?”:  Direct questions about the library to the Reference Desk or Circulation Desk.
  • "Do you tutor Statistics?" CAA tutors all Statistics courses except 132A and 132B. Students who need help with those should be directed to the Math/Physics Center
  • I need help with research. Can you help? Direct them to a research librarian.
  • I'm a student athlete, can I get hours verified? Yes, but only if they work with a tutor and is during CAA hours. Hours are logged automatically through Tutortrac. They swipe into that system at the CAA.
  • I have a private appointment. Who is my tutor? They can find this information in their SVSU email This information is auto-generated to them when they make the appointment.  
  • I was here until 7 pm, and my hours didn’t count! Direct them to their coach in Athletcis.
  • How do I print? If you are printing from a wireless device go to www.svsu.edu, go to print balance, then select web print and upload the document. You can print this document at any printer on campus using your ID and pin. If you are using a school computer, you can automatically print to any printer. You will need your student ID and Pin. Students can print to printers on the 2nd floor library entrance. Both are “Kyocera”.
  • Where is the Testing Center? The testing center is on the 3rd floor of Zahnow Library.  
  • Where is the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL)? 2nd floor Zahnow, outside the 2nd floor doors.
